Viatas Center Philosophy

Our management team at Viatas Center has combined over 45 years in the health care industry.  If we have learned one thing over the course of all those years, it is the patient-centric medicine is critical to patient satisfaction and overall clinical success.  Of course this is not at the expense of clinical expertise and cutting edge treatment but the foundation of clinical success is a willingness to cater care to the individual needs of the patient.  This approach is entwined into the DNA of our philosophy and serves as the vision for our treatment programs.

Many12-step based programs are rigid prohibiting the use of drugs like Suboxone, Subutex, and Methadone to ease withdrawal symptoms while maintaining a normal life at home and work.  Viatas Center does not render judgment regarding the use of such compounds and believes that if a patients success is enhanced by the use of them then that is what we would endorse.  The Viatas Center believes in a flexible, individualized approach that integrates the patients needs and desires with clinical data that maximizes chance of success.  Our programs are still 12-step based but also have flexibility built in to emphasize the elements that most engage each individual.  We offer a program that includes the use of Suboxone and we also offer a program that does not....ultimately it is up to the patient.

Viatas Center is open to and evaluates all of the latest advances in addiction medicine.  We don't judge what is right and wrong in terms of treatment philosophies but rather endorse an evidence based medical approach.  Our top priority is maximizing the chance that a patient can stay off of whatever it is that they currently crave.
